When was the Boston GLBTQ Basketball League formed?
The league was formed in the Fall of 1994.

Where are regular season games held?
Boston College High School: 150 Morrissey Blvd, Boston, Massachusetts 02125 Free Parking.

When does the season begin?
Saturday, January 6, 2024 to Saturday, April 6, 2024

How many games do you play?
1 Preseason Game, 12 Regular Season Games, & at least 1 Playoff game for a total of at least 16 games. Note: You must play more than half of the games (7) to qualify for the season-ending playoffs.

How many levels are there?
There are two divisions - Division 1 and Division 2. Division 1 is for the more competitive/advanced player. Division 2 is for the recreational/intermediate and beginner player.

What days are games held?
Wednesday's 7-9P or Saturday's 12-6PM

I don't know that much about the game, can I still participate?
Absolutely. Beginners are always welcome, as are players of all experience. Click New Player Information to request more details.

How are the teams picked?
Players are chosen through a draft system by the league coaches before the season begins. In order to keep the Team's even, advanced players are encouraged to play in Division 1; while recreational, intermediate and beginner level players are encouraged to play in Division 2.

Are there playoffs?
Yes. At the conclusion of each season the teams battle it out in playoffs to win their division championship followed by an end of the year banquet with trophies and awards.

Yes at Marshall Community Center: Regular Season 2024 D2 Tuesday & D1 Thursday Night Practices 6:30-8:30p. 35 Westville St, Dorchester MA

Do you have to be gay to play in the league?
Absolutely not. The league fosters an athletic environment free of discrimination for members and friends of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ+) community. It also promotes positive values in our community and will fight to eliminate negative stereotypes associated with LGBTQ+ athletics.
